Is Spider-Man: Brand New Day worth watching? (No spoilers)

Worth watching

Spider-Man is back! The quips, the web-swinging, the mix of comedy, action and tragedy all land, and the 2.5 hours fly by. Punisher and Jean Grey are both great additions, and it feels like the Infinity Saga era again. Easily a top 5 MCU movie. Absolutely worth watching for any spidey lover.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day review

Spider-Man (yes, with the dash) is back!!!!

This is the happiest I've been to see a Spider-Man movie since Andrew Garfield was on the big screen. From the return of quips, to phenomenal web swinging, countless personal obstacles, and an amazing mix of comedy, action, and tragedy this movie did it all. Also, for the first time since End Game the theatre was packed with fans appluading, crying, cheering, and oohing throughout!

The 2.5 hour runtime was completely worth it, and flew by. The look was not the only amazing part, the story was great, and unlike many modern MCU films this started running and never stopped, all three acts were phenomenal, including the conclusion.

The extra characters were also great. Instead of the fan-service cameo fest of other films, this felt like going back to the Infinity Saga era of the MCU. Every character was generally exciting to see, and only added to the film and its narrative. My personal favorite was punisher, seeing him and spidey team up against the Hulk made the comic book lover in me explode, was insane to see on the big screen.

I also loved Jean Gray. As someone who doesn't really care about her normally, and was skeptical to see her kickstart our run in with the X-Men, I was happily surprised how well her character worked, and fit into the MCU as a whole.

Of course, it's not an MCU film without an end credits scene. This only has one, very briefly teasing the return of Spider-Man, this time off planet. I assume this means Secret Wars, not Doomsday, but time will tell!

Overall this is easily a top 5 MCU film for me, and actually gives me hope for the continuation of this universe (yes, even Doomsday!).

Spider-Man: Brand New Day ending explained

In the final scene, Peter reintroduces himself to Ned and starts their old handshake. Ned's body remembers it and he says Peter's name, a hint that the memories erased in No Way Home aren't completely gone. However, viewers may notice that MJ had already told Ned Spidey is called Peter, which leaves some bizarre questions to Ned’s true motives. Does he really remember, or is he faking belief to befriend his idol?

Does Spider-Man: Brand New Day have a post-credits scene?

Yes, Spider-Man: Brand New Day features one scene at the very end of the credits, and no mid-credits scene. Ned's Spidey Tracker app picks up a new Spider-Man sighting at an unknown location. The map zooms out past the Moon into space, a red dot reads 'Location found,' and the screen says 'Spider-Man will return.' It's widely read as setting up spidey’s appearance in Secret Wars (or Avengers: Doomsday).
