Is Jurassic World worth watching? (No spoilers)

Worth watching

Way better than I expected after avoiding it for years. It balances nods to the original with new ideas, and Owen and Claire are great. Training velociraptors is still a slap in the face to the original, but it's a fun, worthwhile return to the park.

Jurassic World review

Why did it have to be velociraptors!!!!  I mean of all the species to "tame" why pick the scariest ones from the original film and novel, it is such a spit in the face.

To be fair, they earned some points back with the switch to them hunting the military in act 3, but not enough.

As an avid fan of the original Jurassic Park novel and film, I've avoided this for decades.  So I was shocked with how much I enjoyed it.

It's a rare return to an old and beloved franchise that hits a great balance between nods to the old film (love the T-Rex winning it all) and also bringing something new.

They made the new dinosaur work and make sense, and I loved the military weapons angle being brought in as a replacement for the competitors.

Owen Grady and Claire were amazing characters, and the kids were well played and written as well!

While the film was far from the original, and certainly had its weak moments, it was a great film that made me regret avoiding it all these years.

Jurassic World ending explained

The Indominus rex, a genetically engineered hybrid, escapes and tears through the park. InGen's Hoskins uses the chaos to test the trained raptors as military weapons, but the raptors turn on the soldiers and he's killed.

In the final battle the Indominus attacks Owen, Claire and the boys. Claire releases the T. rex (the same one from the original film) to fight it, and Blue the raptor joins in. The two push the Indominus to the edge of the lagoon, where the Mosasaurus drags it underwater. Blue and the T. rex go their separate ways, and the T. rex roars over the abandoned park.

The ending is a nod to the original: the T. rex winning it all, and nature beating the people who tried to control it. Dr. Wu escaping with dinosaur embryos sets up the sequels.

Does Jurassic World have a post-credits scene?

No. Jurassic World has no mid-credits or post-credits scene.
