Is Batman Beyond Actually Getting a Movie?

Fans and critics have been freaking out over supposed news that a Batman Beyond movie may be in the works, but this whole story has been blown out of proportion. The facts: at the Clayface premiere, James Gunn was asked whether any of Batman's animated projects could inspire future films. He named Batman Beyond as something "that could be a good movie," and said he loves the show.

That's it. It was just a fun answer in an interview, and to our knowledge there's no evidence it's in any stage of development. Claiming this means a movie is coming is like Kevin Feige saying he likes the Clone Saga comics and assuming that's the next Spider-Man trilogy. James Gunn likes Batman Beyond. Cool. Who doesn't?
